Award-winning quality
Newly available in the U.S., Good Green Vitality (GGV) has already been recognized by multiple health and wellness media outlets, including Optimal Performance Living, which has honored the superfood protein with its award for “Best Superfood.” GGV also won “Best Supplement” in the Remix Lifestyle Awards.
In addition to multiple honors for Nuzest’s Clean Lean Protein powder—which contains all nine essential amino acids, supporting vitality, recovery, and repair—the company was recently designated the top company among its peers for fast-paced growth by News7Health. Retailer News Network has honored Nuzest for offering the Best New Product Opportunity in its class, and Founder and CEO Trevor Bolland has been named a recipient of the distinguished Visionary Leadership Award from Emerging Enterprise News.
A unique superfood protein
More than a multivitamin and much more than just “greens,” Good Green Vitality provides comprehensive nutritional support.
As a superfood protein, Good Green Vitality is formulated to address all areas of health in one daily serving. Its 75+ ingredients include carefully selected antioxidant-rich fruits, vegetables, microalgae, and mushrooms, fortified with 24 vitamins, minerals, high-quality plant protein, dietary enzymes, probiotics, adaptogens, andother important nutrients in their most bioavailable forms. These work together to support gut health, immune function, stress reduction, mental performance, and more.
All Nuzest protein superfood products undergo independent third-party testing to ensure there are no added sugars, fillers, preservatives, or other allergens in the product. Additional testing is conducted to ensure no heavy metals or pesticides are present and to meet World Health Organization (WHO) standards.
A growing market
Nuzest-USA is growing within a strong and accelerating superfood powders market, which was estimated globally by Grand View Research at USD $6.14 billion in 2021 and is expected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7.2% through 2030. COVID-19 has led to many consumers focusing on their health; subsequently, the increasing interest in health and wellness products has been driving global demand for superfood powders.
Many brands and companies in the food industry have been expanding into new superfood product lines to gain maximum market share, and new product launches in the superfood powder segment are likely to see future market growth.
In the meantime, Nuzest continues to gain market share in the highly competitive sector of plant-based foods, which is expected to reach USD $93.92 billion by 2028 with a CAGR of 12.27%.
The global vitamin supplement market is also a big business. Its market size is expected to reach $71.37 billion by 2028. More than one-third of Americans take vitamin supplements, and about 30% of adults aged 65 and older take four or more supplements. Finding the right multivitamin and mineral supplement, though, can be a challenge. Few, if any, even come close to the range of nutrients offered by Good Green Vitality.
Comprehensive nutrition
Many consumers do not get all the essential micronutrients needed to thrive from diet alone. Designed as a daily supplement to help fill key nutritional deficiencies, Good Green Vitality serves as nutritional “insurance” rather than a replacement for a healthy balanced diet. Whole food is still the best main source of nutrition, but when coupled with a good diet, Good Green Vitality becomes the ultimate daily nutritional backup.
Each ingredient is specifically chosen for the benefits it provides to one or more of the 11 body systems, boosting vitality and immunity, as well as supporting enhanced daily functioning. The premium ingredients of Good Green Vitality are selected to support specific health needs, including:
Gut and digestive support: apple fiber, globe artichoke extract, milk thistle extract, prebiotic apple pectin, psyllium husk, dandelion extract, ginger rhizome, licorice root, slippery elm, digestive enzymes, and probiotics, including Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifidum.
Neural support (mood/stress & cognition): flaxseed, sunflower lecithin, green tea extract, Brahmi extract, ashwagandha, sage, Panax ginseng, gotu kola, and Rhodiola rosea extract.
Immune system and energy: citric acid, bioflavonoids, shiitake mushrooms, resveratrol extract, rosehip extract, cocoa bean polyphenols, astragalus, alpha-lipoic acid (ALA), grape seed extract, beta-glucans, rosemary extract, and CoQ10.
Protein and superfoods, fruits, and vegetables: pea protein isolate; organic spirulina, wheatgrass leaf, barley grass leaf, and chlorella; as well as kelp, red marine algae, beetroot, carrot, broccoli sprouts, spinach, and cauliflower; black currant, papaya, and acerola cherry.
Leadership and the evolution of Nuzest
A small, family-owned and operated business headquartered in Sydney, Australia, Nuzest was established in 2013 and is led by Founder and CEO Trevor Bolland. Nuzest’s journey as a supplier of plant-based nutritional supplements began in New Zealand when Bolland found out that his 22-year-old daughter, Monique, had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) – a debilitating autoimmune condition affecting the brain and nervous system.
“That, of course, turned our world upside down,” Bolland says. “I’m not from this industry – I had very much a different career.” After 15 years as a naval officer and then a prosperous career in commercial real estate, Bolland dropped everything to take care of his daughter, selling his business and beginning a worldwide journey to seek remedies to counter the devastating condition.
At that point, Monique’s condition was very severe. “It wasn’t just a diagnosis,” he says, “there were very serious lesions on her brain and spine. There was really nothing you could do about it in those days—there’s still no cure today—and nothing could really control it.”
Their search for answers led them to the U.S., where they spent six weeks in a naturopathic health clinic in Texas, where nutrition played a significant role in Monique’s recovery.
“We learned during that period that nutrition was particularly important,” Bolland says, “that nutrition and lifestyle were key to wellness. Not a cure—she still has multiple sclerosis—so changing her diet and her lifestyle certainly hasn’t cured MS, but what it did do, in the absence of anything else, was allow her to manage it. We managed to get her life back in balance.”
At that point, Monique, too, changed careers, transitioning from digital marketing to
the health sector. She opened a small health clinic in Sydney, Australia, and for five years offered the same kind of services she had received in the U.S. In the meantime, her father started helping her look for a daily nutritional supplement that would aid in her healing.
Bolland says he called upon many contacts he had made since Monique’s diagnosis, including a team of health practitioners and Ph.D. scientists to assist with the product’s formulation. Soon, Good Green Stuff was launched, a forerunner of GGV, and along the way, the Bollands found themselves in the midst of a brand-new business.
“There was no big plan,” he says. “The goal was simply to have products that worked really well, that we could use in Monique’s health clinic in Sydney.”
“It just grew. Not by plan or design—I’m not here with a big blueprint or trying to go somewhere. I’m here because it just happened to become popular. It has grown into a bigger business than I planned or even imagined.”
From its humble beginnings, Nuzest’s distribution has grown exponentially and is now available in over 25 countries. In keeping with the business’s original goals, a portion of the company’s global sales helps to fund vital MS research.
Sustainability
Nuzest is committed to sustainably sourced and grown plant-based nutrients that use less land and water while returning nutrients to the soil. No chemicals are used in the protein isolation process; water is purified and recycled; all waste is converted into biofuel and animal feed. Packaging is recyclable or compostable, and the carbon footprint is reduced through local sourcing to the greatest extent possible—even the shipment of peas from France to Belgium is done by traditional river barge. Altogether, Bolland says Nuzest works with nature, not against it.
“We make premium nutritional supplements to support the health and well-being of the individual, our wider communities, and aim to contribute to a healthy planet.”
Along with plant-based nutritional products designed for children, both Good Green Vitality and Clean Lean Protein are available in both powder form and as bars. Nuzest products are available to consumers directly online, via e-commerce and select retail outlets, and on a wholesale basis.
